Atelier Joveck
I (Joke, 1958) love colours. In 2002, after I realised being touched by beautiful colours again and again, I was browsing through the heritage of my creative mother and decided to answer to this longing for doing something with this inescapable love of colours.
By trying out, attending courses, and still more trying out I started to play with colours.
Mostly I make abstract paintings. Only once in a while my work is figurative. I often use acrylic paint or acrylic ink, oilcrayons, pastel and pencil on canvas or paper. Also, I like to apply all kinds of materials like carbon, fiber, paper, sand or gauze on the canvas.
I combine a variety of techniques. I often start creating some colours which come to my mind at that moment. Then I apply a certain technique to them. Sometimes the results are surprising, certainly to me.
